Our tour of the pineapple plantation — How to pick them in the store

We had a great tour of the Maui Gold pineapple plantation here in Maui. Our guide had been working there since he was 12, and was born and raised right where our hotel is now. He was a great guide and we learned a lot about pineapples. Here’s a video of some of the tour, where he explains how to pick the perfect pineapple in the store.

Day 1 in Maui

Today is our first full day in Maui. We got in last night after spending some time in Honolulu for our layover. We flew out of San Jose in the morning, got in, took a cab to the Pearl Harbor memorial, and then headed back to the airport.

Had a flat tire on the first rental car so we had to switch cars but then we were in our way to the hotel. It was a long day, but we are here and ready to enjoy.

I now pronounce you husband and wife

You may now kiss the bride

Here it is, our first kiss as husband and wife. Stacy says its supposed to be man and wife. I guess that makes it our first argument as well. The weather turned out to be great, and everyone had a great time. We’ll have lots more pictures on stacyandmichaeltietheknot.com, and there should be some up there now from the rehearsal dinners as well. It was really great to see so many people all in one place celebrating and having a great time. Food, drinks, dancing and lots of laughter and smiles.

Tre has a solid twitter victory yesterday over Thomas and Jawk. Here is a gem of an image.

We’ve basically just been relaxing all day, before we return to California tomorrow. And then off to Hawaii.

Getting married today!

Today is the big day. Getting married and then going on the honeymoon, so look for some honeymoon posts with pictures from Hawaii.

In the meantime, if you want some real time updates from the wedding, we have 3 on-site twitters. Go ahead and follow: https://twitter.com/jawkdna, https://twitter.com/tretilldeath, and https://twitter.com/thomaslovely

I got a speeding ticket last night

I can’t believe it. I never speed, and have been so conscious of my driving over the past 3, 5, maybe even 5 years so keep my car insurance low, that I am shocked I got a speeding ticket last night. Driving over to Salem across the Beverly bridge, and GOING DOWN HILL, i was somehow clocked at 51 heading onto the new bridge street by-pass. Fucking great, I am in some tiny little rental car, on a straight street with shoulders and no intersections or access from any roads or pedestrians, yet it is a 35 MPH zone. That makes a lot of sense.

If you need a laugh…

This is my current favorite podcast by far, its called Old Jews Telling Jokes. Not only are the jokes really funny, but its a video podcast so you can actually watch them telling the jokes.

My favorites are “Centipede”, “Chicken,” and “Medium.”
