Most of us are used to hearing this question whenever we pull out the plastic from our wallets. Over the past few years, I have flip flopped on my answer to this question depending on my current situation. And now, that I have worked myself out of debt, I think the situation may be even more complex. Let’s go over the history of things to see how we got into this situation.

We had a great tour of the Maui Gold pineapple plantation here in Maui. Our guide had been working there since he was 12, and was born and raised right where our hotel is now. He was a great guide and we learned a lot about pineapples. Here’s a video of some of the tour, where he explains how to pick the perfect pineapple in the store.
Today is our first full day in Maui. We got in last night after spending some time in Honolulu for our layover. We flew out of San Jose in the morning, got in, took a cab to the Pearl Harbor memorial, and then headed back to the airport.
Had a flat tire on the first rental car so we had to switch cars but then we were in our way to the hotel. It was a long day, but we are here and ready to enjoy.
