So if you followed along with the first part of the primer, you should know how to get started enough to start questing. The game actually has a tutorial that walks you thru the first few quests, but if you are anything like me, you blew through that and now are out on your own.
Quests are divided into four “zones.” Plains, Highlands, Forest and Tundra. You can unlock more zones as you level up. The first basic quest is called “Fight Soldier” and requires 1 mana. The rewards of both gold and experience are minimal, so you should quickly move on to more rewarding quests. As soon as you can, get a dagger so you can collect lumber for the village. Not only are the rewards better, but you have a chance at looting a flaming arrow. It’s not a great weapon, but if you don’t have money, and your army has grown, its a free one for them to use which is better than nothing. Continue questing and buying the required items to complete the quests as you get them until you reach two key new quests. Complete the quest “Rid Village of Bandits” over and over until you get the loot from the quest, which is a map to the bandit leader, and that lets you complete the quest “Defeat Bandit Leader.”
